Self hypnosis is done when one put themself in a trance state and it is not when one listen to an audio, though it is your own voice. So, basically self hypnosis must come from within. Placing your self in a trance state.

Always use positive words when doing self hypnosis. Self hypnosis should not be carried out or taught to people who are extremely negative, depressed or taking anti-depressant medication.
Here are the steps to choosing your self hypnosis keywords for your self hypnosis statement.
- Select your suggestion for your relaxation or improvement. what you would like to improve or achieve physically, mentally or spiritually. The simpler the suggestion, the better.
The facilitator instructs the group to relax
- Remove any shoes or socks
- Loosen any tight clothing
- Put aside things held in hand
- Sit comfortably on a chair or sofa
- Put hands on thights
- Relaxed and be comfortable
- Take 3 deep breath – breathing in all the positive air and energy through the nose
- Breathing out all the negative air and energy through the mouth
- With the eyes comfortably closed, focus your attention and feel your breath going in and out
- Take a mental note of your feeling:
- Heaviness
- Floating
- Relaxed
- Lightness
- Warm
- Cold
- Loose
- Tingling
- Limp
- Focus your attention on the soles of your feet and choose the most suitable physical keyword that best describe how you feel physically
- Repeat your physical keyword to yourself 7x. You do not have to reveal it to anyone. It will stay with you for the rest of your life.
- Now we will choose your emotional keyword
- Starting from there, mentally scan your legs, all the way up to your knees and continue feeling it on your thighs and up to your hips
- Now make a note of what you are feeling
- Continue scanning your stomach area, chest and all the way to the back of your neck
- COntinue scanning your lower back, your middle back and your upper back
- Continue to breath in and out, breathing in the positive energy and breathing out any negative energy
- Scan the back of your neck, the back of your head, down the scalp to the front, down the forehead and down the eyes
- Continue down the cheeks and feel the jaw muscles relaxing
- Now scan both the shoulders and continue down bothe the arms, all the way to our elbows, all the way to your wrist on both hands and to each of the tip of your fingers.

- Now concentrate on your breathing, breathing in all the positive air and energy and breathing out any negative air or energy.
- Whenever you feel comfortable, repeat “your suggestion” 21 x
- Concentrate on your breathing
- When you are ready, count from 1 to 5 and bring yourself out of the hypnosis state
- Count 1-2-3-4-5
- Repeat to yourself ” eyes open, wide awake”
- Open your eyes and move from your position, waking up from your hypnotic state.
